The 2300-Day Calculation and Terminus — Mathematical Backbone of Daniel 8:14¶
Question¶
How does Daniel 8-9 establish the 2300/70-week relationship? 457 BC + 2300 = 1844. 1335 convergence (538 + 1335 = 1843/1844). Blessing on 1335. What event at terminus?
Summary Answer¶
The 70 weeks of Daniel 9:24 are "cut from" the 2300 evening-mornings of Daniel 8:14. The hapax verb chathak (H2852) proves this — its root meaning is physical cutting, severing a portion from a whole. Since the 70 weeks begin at 457 BC (Ezra 7), the 2300 begin there too: 457 BC + 2300 = 1844 AD. The 1335 of Daniel 12:12 independently converges on the same terminus from a different starting point. The event at the end of the 2300 is nitsdaq qodesh — the sanctuary vindicated — the beginning of the antitypical Day of Atonement, the pre-advent judgment described in Daniel 7:9-10.
Key Verses¶
Daniel 8:14 "And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed."
Daniel 9:24 "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy."
Daniel 8:13 "How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?"
Daniel 12:12 "Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days."
Daniel 8:26 "And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days."
Mark 1:15 "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel."
Daniel 7:9-10 "I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit... the judgment was set, and the books were opened."
Revelation 14:7 "Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come."
Numbers 14:34 "After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years."
Analysis¶
The Chathak Connection: Why the 70 Weeks and 2300 Share a Starting Point¶
The entire calculation rests on one word: chathak (H2852). This verb appears once in the entire Hebrew Bible — Daniel 9:24. "Seventy weeks are determined [nechtak] upon thy people." The KJV translates "determined," which hides the verb's actual meaning. The root is physical: to cut off. The canonical word study confirms this: chathak means "to sever a portion from a whole" (H2852-chathak.md). The figurative extension to "decree" follows the same path as other Hebrew cutting verbs, but the primary sense is spatial — one thing removed from another.
This matters because Daniel had another word for "decree." He uses charats (H2782) in Dan 9:26-27 for "determined/decreed." If he meant "the 70 weeks are decreed," he had a perfectly good verb for that — one he uses just two verses later. He chose a different word. A unique word. A word that appears nowhere else in Scripture. When a writer uses a hapax legomenon instead of an available common synonym, the choice is deliberate.
The Theodotion LXX preserves the cutting sense by using syntemno ("cut short"), not a generic word for "decide." The OG used ekrithesan ("were judged/decided"), losing the cutting metaphor. But Theodotion — the translation closer to the standard Hebrew text — kept the spatial meaning intact.
If the 70 weeks are "cut from" a larger period, the question becomes: cut from what? There is only one larger time period in the immediate context — the 2300 evening-mornings of Dan 8:14. Gabriel has returned (Dan 9:21) specifically to finish explaining the mar'eh (Dan 9:23; cf. 8:16, 8:27). The 70 weeks are his explanation. They are not a separate, unrelated prophecy. They are a measured portion cut from the 2300 — sharing the same starting point.
The three cutting verbs in Dan 9 form a motif: chathak cuts time (v.24 — severing 70 weeks from 2300), karath cuts a person (v.26 — Messiah cut off), charats cuts fate (vv.26-27 — desolations determined). Each verb cuts something different, but the cluster makes the cutting theme structural. This is not an accident of translation but a deliberate pattern in the Hebrew.
The Starting Point: 457 BC from Ezra 7¶
Daniel 9:25 specifies: "From the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem." The decree must authorize both restoration of governance and building of the city. Ezra 7 records the decree of Artaxerxes in his seventh year (457 BC). This decree is uniquely comprehensive: Ezra 7:25-26 authorizes the appointment of magistrates and judges over "all the people that are beyond the river," with enforcement power including "death, banishment, confiscation of goods, or imprisonment." This is a restoration of judicial sovereignty — not merely a building permit.
Nehemiah 2 (in the 20th year of the same king, ~444 BC) records the building component. Some interpreters use Nehemiah 2 as the starting point, but the key text says "from the going forth of the commandment to restore AND to build." The restoration of judicial authority (Ezra 7) and the physical building (Nehemiah 2) are both aspects of the same royal authorization under the same king. The initial decree (457 BC) is the "going forth" — the first issuance of the command.
Sv-13 established this starting point through the 70-weeks calculation, and the NT confirms it. 457 BC + 483 years (69 weeks) = AD 27. Jesus begins his public ministry in AD 27, declaring: "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand" (Mark 1:15). The Greek is peplerōtai ho kairos — "the appointed time has been fulfilled" (perfect passive). Paul confirms independently: "When the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son" (Gal 4:4). Luke provides the historical anchor: the 15th year of Tiberius Caesar (Luke 3:1), which corresponds to AD 27.
The 70-week calculation works. The starting point is verified by history and confirmed by Christ himself.
The Calculation: 457 BC + 2300 = 1844 AD¶
The arithmetic is straightforward once the premises are established.
Premise 1: The 70 weeks (490 years) are cut from the 2300 evening-mornings (2300 years). Established by chathak.
Premise 2: Both periods begin at 457 BC. Follows from Premise 1 — if the 70 weeks are cut from the 2300, they share a starting point.
Premise 3: The day-year principle applies. Established by three pillars: declared (Num 14:34, Ezek 4:6), signaled (shabuim without yamim in Dan 9, contrasted with shabuim yamim in Dan 10:2-3), and verified (457 + 483 = AD 27, confirmed by Mark 1:15).
The calculation: - Starting point: 457 BC - Total period: 2300 years - 457 BC + 2300 = 1844 AD (accounting for the absence of a year 0)
Alternative method: - 70 weeks = 490 years, ending autumn AD 34 (the end of the 70th week) - Remaining: 2300 - 490 = 1810 years - AD 34 + 1810 = autumn 1844
Both methods produce the same result. The 2300 evening-mornings, measured from 457 BC by the day-year principle, terminate in 1844 AD.
The "evening-morning" unit itself is part of the evidence. Sv-10 established that this compound (erev boqer) appears nowhere else in the Hebrew Bible as a counting unit. Daniel used yamim (days) freely in Dan 12:11-12 — he knew the standard unit and chose not to use it here. The unusual unit is the fingerprint of the sealing act (Dan 8:26). The day-year key decrypts the encoded unit: 2300 erev boqer = 2300 years. The 70-week verification proves the key works.
The 1335 Convergence: Two Time Systems, One Terminus¶
Daniel 12:12 introduces a time period not found in Daniel 8 or 9: "Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days." This 1335 sits at the end of a staircase built in Dan 12:7-12:
- 1260 days (Dan 12:7): "a time, times, and an half" — the baseline persecution period. Under the day-year principle: 538 AD (rise of papal supremacy) to 1798 AD (end of political power).
- 1290 days (Dan 12:11): "from the time that the daily shall be taken away." The 1290 extends 30 days/years beyond the 1260 baseline.
- 1335 days (Dan 12:12): extends 45 more days/years beyond the 1290 (75 beyond the 1260 baseline).
The staircase reaches progressively further: 1260 → 1798. 1290 → 1828. 1335 → 1843/1844. Each step extends the timeline, and the final step carries a blessing.
The starting point for the 1290 and 1335 depends on identifying "the time that the daily shall be taken away" (Dan 12:11). The Hebrew parsing shows husar hatamid (Hophal passive of sur: "the daily WAS removed"). Dan 11:31 describes the same event in active voice: wehesiru hatamid ("they SHALL remove the daily"). The grammar shift from active to passive signals a change in focus: 11:31 names the historical agents; 12:11 treats the event purely as a temporal marker.
The debate about whether the starting point is 508 or 538 is a historical question, not a textual one. The text gives a formula ("from the time that the daily is taken away") but does not name a specific year. Different historical identifications of the tamid removal produce different endpoints. From 508: 508 + 1335 = 1843. This brings the 1335 within a year of the 2300's terminus (1844).
The convergence is the point. Two independent time prophecies — the 2300 counted from 457 BC (Artaxerxes' decree) and the 1335 counted from the tamid removal — arrive at essentially the same date from completely different starting points. One begins with a Persian king's decree about Jerusalem's restoration. The other begins with the removal of God's continual ministry system. Different historical events, different lengths, different chapters of Daniel — same destination.
This is mathematical confirmation. When two independent calculations, starting from different premises, produce the same result, the result is strengthened. The 2300 and the 1335 cross-check each other.
The Blessing on the 1335: A Unique Beatitude¶
Daniel contains many time periods, but only one receives a blessing. The ashrey formula in Dan 12:12 — "Blessed is he that waiteth" — is borrowed from Wisdom literature. The canonical word study (H835-esher.md) shows that ~62% of ashrey occurrences are in Psalms, ~18% in Proverbs (based on BLB count of 45 entries). It appears in beatitudes about Torah-keeping (Psa 1:1, 119:1-2), trusting God (Psa 2:12, 34:8), forgiveness (Psa 32:1-2), and proximity to God's sanctuary (Psa 84:4-5). In every case, the ashrey declares a state of blessedness for those who faithfully do something.
Dan 12:12 transplants this formula into apocalyptic prophecy. The result is the only prophetic-eschatological beatitude in Daniel. No other time period — not the 1260, not the 1290, not even the 2300 — gets a blessing. Only the 1335.
The verb "waiteth" is hamechakkeh — a Piel participle of chakah (H2442). The canonical word study reveals that this is not idle waiting. The root idea of chakah is "to adhere to, to cling." The Piel intensifies this: sustained, deliberate adherence. Of 16 occurrences, 93% are Piel — the intensive form dominates the verb's entire usage profile. The LXX translators rendered chakah as hupomeno ("endure, remain under") — they understood this as perseverance, not passivity.
The closest OT parallel is Isaiah 30:18: "Blessed are all they that wait [chakah] for him." Same ashrey. Same chakah. But Isaiah 30:18 adds a critical detail: "the LORD is a God of judgment [mishpat]." The blessed waiting is tied to God's judicial action. This illuminates Dan 12:12: those who persevere to the 1335 are blessed because they reach the time when God's judgment begins — the same event as the nitsdaq qodesh of Dan 8:14.
The word "cometh to" (weyaggiya, Hiphil of naga) means "attains, reaches." This is not someone who happens to be alive at that time. This is someone actively pressing toward a goal and arriving. The combination — sustained adherence plus attaining the terminus — describes the maskilim of Dan 12:3,10: those who understand, who persevere, and who reach the appointed time.
The Terminus Event: Nitsdaq Qodesh — The Sanctuary Vindicated¶
At the end of the 2300 evening-mornings, Dan 8:14 declares: nitsdaq qodesh. The KJV translates "then shall the sanctuary be cleansed." But the Hebrew is not about cleansing. The verb tsadaq means "to be righteous, to be vindicated" (H6663-tsadaq.md). The Niphal form (nitsdaq) is passive: the sanctuary receives vindication. And this is the only Niphal of tsadaq in the entire Old Testament — a once-in-Scripture construction for a once-in-history event.
The word for "cleansing" in Hebrew is taher (H2891). Leviticus 16 — the Day of Atonement chapter — uses taher consistently: "he shall make atonement for you, to cleanse [taher] you" (Lev 16:30). If Daniel meant cleansing, he would have used taher. He used tsadaq instead — a judicial term. Something is being declared right, not just washed.
The Theodotion LXX mistranslated nitsdaq as katharisthesetai ("shall be cleansed"), and the KJV followed. This translation has obscured the text's actual meaning for centuries. The Hebrew says vindicated. The sanctuary is not merely purified. It receives a verdict — a declaration of righteous standing.
Sv-01 established that biblical righteousness is three-dimensional: forensic (declared right), relational (covenant faithfulness), and character (actual rightness). Nitsdaq encompasses all three. The sanctuary is declared right by God (forensic), restored in its proper covenant function (relational), and shown to be the genuine article in contrast to the counterfeit the horn installed (character). The verdict addresses the full scope of the horn's attack.
The ad-matay/ad grammatical structure (from the grammar reference dan-8-13-14-dialogue.md) locks this event to the entire scope of the question in Dan 8:13. The "how long" question asked about the WHOLE vision — the daily, the transgression, the sanctuary trampling. The answer's 'ad + 2300 erev boqer covers all of it. Whatever the question encompassed, the 2300 terminates. And the verdict — nitsdaq — reverses the trampling. In v.13, qodesh is the object of mirmas (trampling). In v.14, qodesh is the subject of nitsdaq (vindication). Same noun, reversed relationship. What was trampled is now vindicated.
The Judgment Scene: Daniel 7:9-10 as Structural Parallel¶
Dan 7:9-10 describes the event that corresponds to nitsdaq: "The judgment was set, and the books were opened." Thrones are placed. The Ancient of Days sits. Fire issues from before him. Thousands upon thousands attend. This is a courtroom — and the books contain the records that will be examined.
The timing is significant. Dan 7:11 shows the horn still speaking during the judgment: "I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake." The judgment is happening WHILE the horn still operates. Dan 7:22 gives the sequence: "Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom." The order is: (1) judgment, (2) kingdom given to saints. The judgment must be complete before the kingdom transfer. This places the judgment before the second advent — a pre-advent investigation.
Revelation 14:7 announces this event in the present tense: "The hour of his judgment IS come" (aorist of erchomai — the arrival is treated as an accomplished fact). The announcement goes to "every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people" — it is a universal declaration that the judgment prophesied in Daniel has begun.
The 2300 points to 1844. Dan 7:9-10 shows what begins there. Dan 8:14 names the verdict: nitsdaq qodesh. Rev 14:7 declares it to the world.
The Day of Atonement Calendar Correspondence¶
The 2300 terminus corresponds to the Day of Atonement not just in concept but in calendar position. Leviticus 23:27 specifies: "on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement." This date is fixed in the Israelite calendar — the 10th of Tishri.
If the 2300 years begin in the autumn of 457 BC (when the Ezra 7 decree took effect — Ezra arrived in the 5th month per Ezra 7:8-9, and the decree's judicial provisions were implemented in the following months), they end in the autumn of 1844. The autumn-to-autumn measurement places the terminus at the very time of year when the Day of Atonement occurs.
Leviticus 25:9 adds a layer: the Jubilee trumpet sounds "on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement." The Jubilee represents restoration — liberty, debts cancelled, land returned. The DOA and Jubilee overlap. The event at the 2300's terminus carries both judgment (DOA) and restoration (Jubilee) dimensions. What the horn took away, the verdict restores. Study 4b (sv-04b) develops this connection in depth, tracing how Isaiah 61 bridges Jubilee vocabulary (deror, liberty) to the vindication root (tsedeq/tsedaqah) — a second vocabulary bridge alongside Dan 9:24. The 2300 answers "when does the problem end and the solution begin?" — not "when is the solution finished" (see sv-17b).
The severity of the DOA underscores the gravity of the terminus event. Leviticus 23:29 warns: "whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people." Participation was mandatory. The antitypical DOA — the heavenly judgment beginning in 1844 — carries the same urgency. This is not optional or peripheral. It is the most solemn event in the prophetic calendar.
The Verification Key: How the 70 Weeks Authenticate the 2300¶
The 70-week prophecy serves a dual function. It is a Messianic prediction AND a mathematical proof. Sv-13 established this in detail, but the logic bears repeating for this study.
If the day-year conversion works on the 70 weeks (the testable subset), it works on the 2300 (the parent period). The 70 weeks are the verification key that unlocks the 2300.
The test: 457 BC + 69 weeks (483 years) = AD 27. Jesus begins his ministry in AD 27. Mark 1:15: "The time is fulfilled." Galatians 4:4: "When the fullness of the time was come." The calculation hits its predicted target exactly. Luke 3:1 provides independent historical confirmation: the 15th year of Tiberius = AD 27.
The mid-week crucifixion (Dan 9:27, "in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice to cease"): AD 27 + 3.5 years = spring AD 31. The veil of the temple was torn (Matt 27:51) — the sacrifice system ceased by divine act, not by human decree.
The 70th week ends: AD 27 + 7 = AD 34. The gospel begins reaching the Gentiles (Acts 8-10). The 490-year segment is complete.
Every milestone within the 70 weeks was fulfilled. The day-year conversion produced historically verifiable results. The same conversion applied to the full 2300 period is therefore authenticated. This is not circular reasoning — it is the same principle as using a known sample to validate a measurement method. The known sample (70 weeks) verifies the method (day-year conversion). The method then extends to the unknown (2300).
The Revelation 10 Unsealing¶
Revelation 10 depicts an angel with a "little book open" (biblaridion eneogmenon, Rev 10:2). The perfect participle indicates the book was previously sealed but is now open. The angel swears an oath (Rev 10:5-6) that parallels Dan 12:7 — both feature a heavenly being raising hands and swearing by "him that liveth for ever." Rev 10:7 announces: "the mystery of God should be finished."
The sweet-then-bitter experience (Rev 10:9-10) — eating the book is sweet in the mouth but bitter in the stomach — corresponds to the experience of those who understood the 2300-day prophecy before 1844. The expectation was sweet. The actual event (a heavenly judgment rather than the second advent) produced disappointment — bitterness. But the command follows: "Thou must prophesy again" (Rev 10:11). The message does not end with disappointment; it continues.
The textual connection between Rev 10 and Daniel is not explicit (Revelation does not say "the book of Daniel"), but the parallels are strong: sealed book / opened book, angelic oath / angelic oath, "time of the end" / "time no longer," prophetic time periods / prophetic proclamation. These structural and verbal parallels link the two passages.
Word Studies¶
The original language reshapes several key concepts.
Chathak (H2852) — "Cut off," not "determined." The English "determined" hides the mathematical relationship. The Hebrew says the 70 weeks are CUT FROM the 2300 — they are a measured segment removed from a larger whole. This one word establishes that both periods share a starting point. Without it, the 70 weeks could be an independent time prophecy with no connection to the 2300. With it, they are inseparable.
Nitsdaq (H6663, Niphal) — "Vindicated," not "cleansed." The KJV's "cleansed" follows the Theodotion LXX's katharisthesetai, which mistranslated the Hebrew root. The cleansing word is taher. Daniel used tsadaq — a forensic term meaning "to be righteous, to be vindicated." The Niphal makes it passive: the sanctuary RECEIVES vindication from God. This is a verdict, not a ritual.
Esher (H835) — A declared state. The beatitude in Dan 12:12 uses esher, not barak. The distinction: esher declares a state of blessedness about the subject. Barak confers a blessing from agent to object. The person who reaches the 1335 is declared to BE in a blessed state — this is a predication about their character and condition, not a gift given to them.
Chakah (H2442, Piel) — Sustained adherence. "Waiteth" in English sounds passive. The Piel of chakah means to cling, to adhere deliberately and persistently. The LXX uses hupomeno — "remain under, endure." This is not sitting around. This is holding fast through the 1335-day/year period with active, determined perseverance.
Difficult Passages¶
The 508 vs. 538 Starting Point¶
Dan 12:11 provides a formula ("from the time that the daily is taken away") but no date. External sources identify either 508 (removal of pagan Roman influence) or 538 (establishment of papal supremacy) as the tamid removal. From 508: 1335 = 1843. From 538: 1335 = 1873. Only the 508 starting point produces convergence with the 2300. The text does not settle this debate — it gives a formula, and history must supply the date. The 30-year gap between 1290 and 1260 (1290 - 1260 = 30) may correspond to a 30-year gap between the tamid removal event and the abomination's establishment, allowing the 1290 and 1260 to start from different moments.
The One-Year Difference (1843 vs. 1844)¶
The 1335 from 508 reaches 1843. The 2300 from 457 BC reaches 1844. The difference is one year. Three factors explain it.
First, the year-zero problem. There is no year 0 in the BC/AD calendar system. 1 BC is followed directly by AD 1. When calculating across the BC/AD boundary, this must be accounted for. The Millerites initially expected 1843 precisely because they calculated 457 + 2300 = 1843, forgetting the missing year zero. When the error was corrected (457 BC to AD 1 = 458 years, not 457), the terminus moved to autumn 1844. The 1335 calculation (508 + 1335 = 1843) does not cross the BC/AD boundary and therefore has no year-zero adjustment to make.
Second, the Jewish calendar overlap. The 2300 days begin in autumn 457 BC (the decree of Artaxerxes, Ezra 7, issued in the Jewish year) and end in autumn 1844 — specifically on the 10th of Tishri (Day of Atonement). The Gregorian year 1843 and 1844 share the same Jewish calendar year from Tishri to Tishri. The 1335 arriving at 1843 and the 2300 arriving at autumn 1844 fall within the same Jewish annual cycle.
Third, the starting-point precision. The 1335's starting point (508, Clovis offering his army to the papacy) is a historical identification, not a text-given date. The text says "from the time that the daily is taken away" (Dan 12:11) without naming a year. If the actual starting event occurred later in 508 (or if the process extended into 509), the 1335 endpoint shifts correspondingly closer to 1844.
The difference is real and should not be dismissed. But it has identifiable causes in calendar mechanics and starting-point precision, not in a flaw in the prophetic system.
Whether the Day-Year Principle Applies to the 1290 and 1335¶
The 1290 and 1335 use yamim (the standard word for "days"), not the encoded erev boqer unit. Whether the day-year principle extends to these numbers depends on their genre context. They sit within sealed prophetic content (Dan 12:4,9), which applies the same apocalyptic genre markers as the 2300. The staircase relationship to the 1260 (which is universally recognized as 1260 years under the day-year principle) further supports the conversion. If the 1260 is years, and the 1290 extends 30 beyond it, and the 1335 extends 75 beyond it, all three should use the same time unit. But the textual argument is based on context, not on the words themselves.
Revelation 10's Identification with Daniel¶
The "little book open" is not explicitly named as Daniel's book. The identification rests on structural parallels (sealed/opened, angelic oath, time terminology), not on a direct statement. These parallels are strong and numerous, but the connection remains inferential. A reader could accept the Daniel 8:14 calculation without accepting the Revelation 10 identification.
Conclusion¶
The mathematical backbone of Daniel 8:14 rests on four established points.
First, the shared starting point. Chathak (H2852) in Dan 9:24 proves the 70 weeks are cut from the 2300. Both begin at 457 BC — the Ezra 7 decree.
Second, the verified method. The day-year principle, declared in Num 14:34 and Ezek 4:6, applied to the 70 weeks, and confirmed by Mark 1:15 ("the time is fulfilled" at AD 27), authenticates the same conversion for the full 2300.
Third, the convergence. The 1335 of Dan 12:12, counting from the tamid removal, independently arrives at the same terminus (1843/1844) as the 2300 counting from 457 BC. Two time systems, different starting points, same destination. The convergence cross-checks the calculation.
Fourth, the terminus event. Dan 8:14's nitsdaq qodesh — the sanctuary vindicated — identifies what happens at the end of the 2300. This is not cleansing (taher) but vindication (tsadaq): a forensic verdict declaring the sanctuary right. Dan 7:9-10 provides the scene: the judgment set, the books opened. Rev 14:7 announces it: "the hour of his judgment is come." The timing is pre-advent (Dan 7:22 — judgment before the kingdom), and the calendar correspondence places it at the Day of Atonement (Lev 23:27 — 10th of the 7th month).
The blessing on the 1335 singles out this terminus as the most significant prophetic milestone in Daniel. No other time period receives a beatitude. The Piel of chakah (H2442) — sustained, deliberate adherence — paired with the Hiphil of naga (H5060) — actively reaching the goal — describe not passive observers but the maskilim (Dan 12:3,10) who understand, persevere, and arrive at the appointed time. Isaiah 30:18 provides the closest parallel: "Blessed are all they that wait for him... the LORD is a God of judgment." The blessing and the judgment are inseparable.
What remains to be explored in later studies: the nature of the judgment itself (sv-17, the judgment as antitypical DOA), the full meaning of vindication (sv-18), and the maskilim who understand these things (sv-22). This study establishes the numbers. The numbers point to 1844. And 1844 points to a verdict: nitsdaq qodesh.
