Passage Analyses¶
dan-9-24-27.md (PRIMARY — full 270+ line analysis)¶
Path: D:/bible/bible-studies/grammar-reference/passages/dan-9-24-27.md
Read in full. Contains:
- Complete word-by-word parsing of all 4 verses (Hebrew + parsing + gloss)
- 7 key grammatical feature analyses (nechtak hapax, shabu'im structure, six telic infinitives, yikkaret mashiyach, charats Niphal participles, veteda'/vetaskel imperatival pair, construct-chain and numeric apposition structures)
- Structural observations (frontline verb spine, antecedent of 3ms in v.27)
- Connection to Daniel 8 (lexical resumption, cutting motif, day-year hermeneutic)
day-year-formula.md¶
Path: D:/bible/bible-studies/grammar-reference/hebrew/day-year-formula.md
Read in full. Documents:
- The yom lashshanah formula in Num 14:34 and Ezek 4:6
- Distributive lamed + definite article = "each day for the year"
- Framing cardinals (40 days / 40 years) make 1:1 ratio explicit
- Performative verbs frame conversion as divine decree
- The construction is not unique to day-year (also Exo 16:22, Num 28:3, 1 Kgs 5:2)
- Grammar does NOT determine portability to apocalyptic texts — that is hermeneutical
distributive-lamed-ratio.md¶
Path: D:/bible/bible-studies/grammar-reference/hebrew/distributive-lamed-ratio.md
Read in full. Documents:
- Broader grammatical category of which yom lashshanah is a specific instance
- le- + noun = "per X" / "for each X" / "assigned to X"
- Three things produce the ratio: distributive le-, numerical apposition, reduplication
- Contrast with be- (iterative "year after year") vs le- (ratio "day per year")
- The grammar encodes the ratio operator; context encodes the ratio value
apocalyptic-time-unit-grammar.md¶
Path: D:/bible/bible-studies/grammar-reference/hebrew/apocalyptic-time-unit-grammar.md
Read (first 60 lines). Documents:
- Apocalyptic time-spans use non-standard time units: erev boqer (Dan 8:14), shabuim (Dan 9:24), iddan (Dan 7:25)
- Four signals mark apocalyptic time: (1) counted-unit displacement from yom, (2) anarthrous asyndetic pairing, (3) register co-text (sealing commands, et qets), (4) Aramaic lexical shift
- Dan 8:14's erev boqer = asyndetic juxtaposition (no waw, no article) — NOT the Tamid liturgical pair
- Dan 9:24's shabuim shib'im = cognate-pluralized counter (root-identical stacking)
- These signals mark spans as candidates for symbolic decoding; the grammar flags but does not prove conversion
jer-25-11-12-seventy-years.md¶
Path: D:/bible/bible-studies/grammar-reference/passages/jer-25-11-12-seventy-years.md
Read (first 60 lines). Key finding:
- Jeremiah's 70 years is a CONTROL CASE — a prophetic time-prediction that is NOT day-for-year
- Four signals mark it as literal: (1) plain shanah (no yom lashshanah), (2) no apocalyptic genre markers, (3) no seal-command, (4) Daniel reads it literally in Dan 9:2
- Establishes that day-for-year is genre-triggered, not universally applied to every prophetic time-reference
