Source: D:/bible/bible-studies/grammar-reference/passages/dan-9-24-27.md

Key features documented: 1. nechtak (v.24): Niphal Perfect 3ms of chathak H2852. Hapax. Stative/resultative aspect: "has been decreed." 3ms agreement with collective plural subject. Theodotion LXX preserves cutting metaphor (syntemno). 2. shabuim shib'im (v.24): Two mp.Abs nouns in fronted position (marked topicalization). Masculine plural form (not feminine shabuwot as in Exo 34:22). Dan 10:2-3 contrasts "weeks of days" (yamim) with the plain "weeks" of ch. 9 — signaling the ch. 9 units are NOT ordinary weeks. 3. Six telic infinitive constructs: le + InfCon chain, all dependent on nechtak. 3+3 structure: first triad removes sin (pesha, chattat, avon); second triad installs positive realities (tsedeq olamim, sealed vision, anointed qodesh qodashim). 4. Kethiv/Qere at Purpose 2: Kethiv ulchatom (chatham "to seal [sins]"); Qere ulhattem (tamam Hiphil "to make an end of [sins]"). Both traditions preserved. 5. yikkaret mashiach (v.26): Niphal Impf 3ms of karath. "Shall be cut off" = violent death with covenantal overtones. ve-ein lo = "and nothing to him" — terse, syntactically economical. 6. charats Niphal Participles (vv.26-27): necharetset, necharatsah = "being decreed" — abiding state of divine certainty. 7. Three-verb decree architecture: chathak (v.24, unique), karath (v.26, Messiah), charats (vv.26-27). None are common decree verbs. Deliberate cutting-motif. 8. Connection to Dan 8: Lexical resumption via biyn/sakhal/mar'eh roots spanning Dan 8:16 → 8:27 → 9:22-23 → 9:25. Same angel, same verbal roots, same object.
