Key Findings from Grammar Library

Voice Alternation Pattern (from dan-8-11-12-voice-alternation.md)

Seven finite verbs span vv.11-12 with four distinct stems: - Zone A (v.11a): ACTIVE — higdil (Hiphil) — horn self-magnifies - Zone B (v.11b-12a): PASSIVE — huram (Hophal), hushlak (Hophal), tinnaten (Niphal) — tamid removed, sanctuary cast down, host given over - Zone C (v.12b-d): ACTIVE — tashlekh (Hiphil), asah (Qal), hitslichah (Hiphil) — horn casts truth, acts, prospers

3ms Suffix Binding (from dan-8-11.md)

The 3ms suffix on miqdasho can only bind to sar-hats-tsaba (the Prince), not to the horn, because qeren is f.s. throughout Dan 8. This is the load-bearing grammatical datum for the heavenly-sanctuary reading.

Mareh/Chazon Distinction (from dan-8-15-16.md)

  • chazon = the whole vision complex (vv.1-12)
  • mareh = a specific visible element (the 2300-oracle, per v.26a retrospective identification)
  • v.16 commands Gabriel to explain ham-mareh (not he-chazon)
  • v.27 records Daniel's astonishment at ham-mareh — still unresolved

Lock-and-Key Binding (from dan-8-13-14-dialogue.md)

The question's ad-matay and the answer's ad create a syntactic lock: whatever the question covers, the 2,300 terminate. The qodesh + mirmas (question) inverts to nitsdaq + qodesh (answer) — same subject, reversed verdict.
