Raw Greek Parsing Data

Hebrews 7:26

Greek: Τοιοῦτος γὰρ ἡμῖν καὶ ἔπρεπεν ἀρχιερεύς, ὅσιος, ἄκακος, ἀμίαντος, κεχωρισμένος ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν, καὶ ὑψηλότερος τῶν οὐρανῶν γενόμενος·

Τοιοῦτος (toioutos) G5108 — D-NSM "such a one"
ἔπρεπεν (eprepen) G4241 — V-IAI-3S Impf.Act.Ind "it was fitting"
ἀρχιερεύς (archiereus) G749 — N-NSM "high priest"
ὅσιος (hosios) G3741 — A-NSM "holy/devout/pious"
ἄκακος (akakos) G172 — A-NSM "innocent/harmless/without evil"
ἀμίαντος (amiantos) G283 — A-NSM "undefiled/unstained"
κεχωρισμένος (kechorismenos) G5563 — V-RPP-NSM Perf.Pass.Ptcp "having been separated"
ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν — "from sinners"
ὑψηλότερος (hypseloteros) G5308 — A-NSM-C comparative "higher than"
τῶν οὐρανῶν — "the heavens"
γενόμενος (genomenos) G1096 — V-2ADP-NSM Aor.Mid.Ptcp "having become"

Hebrews 7:27

Greek: ὃς οὐκ ἔχει καθ' ἡμέραν ἀνάγκην... ἀναφέρειν... τοῦτο γὰρ ἐποίησεν ἐφάπαξ ἑαυτὸν ἀνενέγκας.

ἀναφέρειν (anaphereīn) G399 — V-PAN Pres.Act.Inf "to offer up" (daily priestly duty)
ἐφάπαξ (ephapax) G2178 — ADV "once for all"
ἑαυτὸν (heauton) G1438 — F-3ASM "himself"
ἀνενέγκας (anenengkas) G399 — V-AAP-NSM Aor.Act.Ptcp "having offered up" (Christ's singular act)

Key: Two forms of anaphero in same verse — present infinitive for repeated Levitical action, aorist participle for Christ's once-for-all action. The tense shift encodes the typological fulfillment.

Hebrews 7:28

Greek: ὁ νόμος γὰρ ἀνθρώπους καθίστησιν ἀρχιερεῖς ἔχοντας ἀσθένειαν, ὁ λόγος δὲ τῆς ὁρκωμοσίας τῆς μετὰ τὸν νόμον Υἱόν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τετελειωμένον.

καθίστησιν (kathistēsin) G2525 — V-PAI-3S "appoints/constitutes"
ἔχοντας ἀσθένειαν — Pres.Act.Ptcp "having weakness/infirmity"
τετελειωμένον (teteleiōmenon) G5048 — V-RPP-ASM Perf.Pass.Ptcp "having been perfected/consecrated"

Key: teteleiōmenon — perfect passive participle of teleioō. The perfecting is:
(1) completed (perfect tense — result is permanent)
(2) passive (done TO the Son, not by the Son — divine consecration)
(3) Connects to millu (H4394) via LXX teleiōsis (G5050) — priestly ordination = "perfecting"
The Son is "perfected/consecrated for evermore" — His priestly consecration is permanent.

Hebrews 5:5

Greek: Οὕτως καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς οὐχ ἑαυτὸν ἐδόξασεν γενηθῆναι ἀρχιερέα

ἐδόξασεν (edoxasen) G1392 — V-AAI-3S Aor.Act.Ind "glorified"
γενηθῆναι (genethēnai) G1096 — V-AON Aor.Pass.Inf "to become/be made"
ἀρχιερέα (archierea) G749 — N-ASM "high priest"

Key: Christ did not glorify HIMSELF to become HP — passive infinitive shows divine appointment.

Hebrews 5:7

Greek: ὃς ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τῆς σαρκὸς αὐτοῦ... προσενέγκας...

προσενέγκας (prosenenkas) G4374 — V-AAP-NSM Aor.Act.Ptcp of prosphero "having offered/presented"

Key: prosenenkas is the HP offering verb (prosphero = bring to, offer). Heb 5:7 places Christ's prayers and tears within an explicitly priestly offering framework. The HP offering verb applied to the Gethsemane/Golgotha experience.

Hebrews 5:10

Greek: προσαγορευθεὶς ὑπὸ τοῦ Θεοῦ ἀρχιερεὺς κατὰ τὴν τάξιν Μελχισέδεκ.

προσαγορευθεὶς (prosagoreutheis) G4316 — V-APP-NSM Aor.Pass.Ptcp "having been designated/named"
Key: Divine passive — designated BY GOD as high priest. The appointment comes from outside, not self-generated.

Hebrews 9:28

Greek: οὕτως καὶ ὁ Χριστός, ἅπαξ προσενεχθεὶς εἰς τὸ πολλῶν ἀνενεγκεῖν ἁμαρτίας

ἅπαξ (hapax) G530 — ADV "once"
προσενεχθεὶς (prosenentheis) G4374 — V-APP-NSM Aor.Pass.Ptcp of prosphero "having been offered"
ἀνενεγκεῖν (anenenkein) G399 — V-2AAN Aor.Act.Inf of anaphero "to bear up"
ἁμαρτίας (hamartias) G266 — N-APF "sins"
πολλῶν (pollōn) G4183 — A-GPM "of many"

Key structure: Two verbs, two voices:
(1) prosenentheis — PASSIVE: Christ "was offered" (divine passive — offered by the Father?)
(2) anenenkein — ACTIVE: Christ actively "bore up" the sins
This mirrors Isa 53:12: God "laid on him" (passive receiving) + "he bore" (active bearing).
The ana- prefix of anaphero = "upward" — sins borne UPWARD toward God, not outward into wilderness.

1 Peter 2:24

Greek: ὃς τὰς ἁμαρτίας ἡμῶν αὐτὸς ἀνήνεγκεν ἐν τῷ σώματι αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸ ξύλον

αὐτὸς (autos) G846 — P-NSM emphatic "he himself"
ἀνήνεγκεν (anēnengken) G399 — V-AAI-3S Aor.Act.Ind of anaphero "bore up"
ἐν τῷ σώματι αὐτοῦ — "in his own body"
ἐπὶ τὸ ξύλον — "upon the tree"

Key: "He himself" (emphatic autos) bore our sins "in his own body" — the priest's PERSON is the bearing medium, just as in Lev 10:17 the priest's eating transfers sin through his body. The cross (xylon) functions as the altar where the priestly offering occurs.

Revelation 14:1

Greek: ἔχουσαι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Πατρὸς αὐτοῦ γεγραμμένον ἐπὶ τῶν μετώπων αὐτῶν

ἔχουσαι (echousai) G2192 — V-PAP-NPF Pres.Act.Ptcp "having"
τὸ ὄνομα (to onoma) — "the name"
τοῦ Πατρὸς (tou Patros) — "of the Father"
γεγραμμένον (gegrammenon) G1125 — V-RPP-ASN Perf.Pass.Ptcp "having been written"
ἐπὶ τῶν μετώπων (epi tōn metōpōn) G3359 — "upon the foreheads"

Key: The forehead inscription chain culminates here. What was written on the HP's gold plate (qodesh la-YHWH) becomes the Father's name written on the foreheads of the 144,000. The priestly holiness inscription → universal believer's identity.
