Methodology¶
Research Pipeline¶
Each study was produced through the bible-study5 multi-agent pipeline:
- Reference Gathering — Prior studies searched, external corpora queried for research leads
- Scope Discovery — Tools (not training knowledge) discover relevant topics, verses, and Strong's numbers
- Library Generation — Missing word studies and grammar references created before research begins
- Data Gathering — Full verse text, cross-testament parallels, Hebrew/Greek parsing, all organized without interpretation
- Analysis — Verse-by-verse examination, pattern identification, comprehensive conclusion with verse support
Interpretive Principles¶
- Scripture interprets Scripture — meaning derived from biblical usage, not external frameworks
- Contextual analysis — expanding circles from verse to chapter to book to same author to cross-testament
- Historical-grammatical method — original language grammar informs meaning
- Scripture is the only authority for doctrine — external sources are research leads, not evidence
- Consistency — conclusions must hold across ALL analyzed verses
Four Framework Approach¶
This series identifies four distinct atonement frameworks in Scripture:
- Sacrificial — chattat blood purification, asham restitution, hilasterion mercy-seat theology
- Covenant-Curse — Deuteronomic blessings and curses, Christ bearing the curse (Gal 3:13)
- Priestly — high priest's garments bearing sin, intercession, Day of Atonement mediation
- Substitutionary — Isaiah 53's Servant bearing iniquity, the righteous for the unrighteous
Each framework answers a different question. The series examines them individually (Parts 1-3), watches them converge in key NT passages (Part 4), and integrates them in doctrine and practice (Part 5).
