Rev 16:15

Greek Text: Ἰδοὺ ἔρχομαι ὡς κλέπτης· μακάριος ὁ γρηγορῶν καὶ τηρῶν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ, ἵνα μὴ γυμνὸς περιπατῇ καὶ βλέπωσιν τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην αὐτοῦ.

ἔρχομαι [G2064 V-PNI-1S — 'I am coming'] | ὡς κλέπτης [G2812 — 'as a thief'] | μακάριος [G3107 A-NSM — 'blessed'] | ὁ γρηγορῶν [γρηγορέω G1127 V-PAP-NSM — 'the one watching'] | τηρῶν [τηρέω G5083 V-PAP-NSM — 'keeping'] | τὰ ἱμάτια [ἱμάτιον G2440 N-APN — 'garments'] | γυμνὸς [γυμνός G1131 A-NSM — 'naked'] | περιπατῇ [περιπατέω G4043 V-PAS-3S — 'he should walk'] | βλέπωσιν [βλέπω G991 V-PAS-3P — 'they should see'] | τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην [ἀσχημοσύνη G808 N-ASF — 'the shame/unseemliness'].

KEY: This verse contains the vocabulary cluster linking to Rev 3:17-18 (Laodicea): himation (G2440, garments), gymnos (G1131, naked), blepo (G991, see), and aschemosynen (G808, shame — cognate of aischune G152). Paulien identifies this as the strongest evidence for end-time prophetic reading of Laodicea: these words cluster ONLY in Rev 3:17-18 and Rev 16:15 in the entire Bible. Context: sixth plague, Armageddon.

Rev 21:7

Greek Text: ὁ νικῶν κληρονομήσει ταῦτα, καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτῷ Θεὸς καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι υἱός.

ὁ νικῶν [νικάω G3528 V-PAP-NSM Pres Act Ptcp — 'the one overcoming'] | κληρονομήσει [κληρονομέω G2816 V-FAI-3S Fut Act Ind — 'will inherit'] | ταῦτα [οὗτος G3778 D-APN — 'these things'] | ἔσομαι [εἰμί G1510 V-FDI-1S — 'I will be'] | αὐτῷ Θεὸς [θεός G2316 N-NSM — 'to him God'] | αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι υἱός [υἱός G5207 N-NSM — 'he will be to me a son'].

KEY: ho nikon (present active participle) + kleronomeisei (future active indicative) = capstone overcomer promise. kleronomeo REPLACES didomi (give) — shifts from gift to inheritance. The sonship declaration 'I will be his God, and he shall be my son' echoes the Davidic covenant formula of 2 Sam 7:14, extending it to all overcomers. This single verse gathers all seven letter promises under one comprehensive inheritance.

Rev 2:25

Greek Text: πλὴν ὃ ἔχετε κρατήσατε ἄχρι οὗ ἂν ἥξω.

πλὴν [G4133 ADV — 'only/but'] | ὃ ἔχετε [ὅς G3739 R-ASN + ἔχω G2192 V-PAI-2P — 'what you have'] | κρατήσατε [κρατέω G2902 V-AAM-2P Aor Act Impv — 'hold fast'] | ἄχρι [G891 ADV — 'until'] | οὗ [ὅς G3739 R-GSM] | ἂν [G302 PRT — modal particle] | ἥξω [ἥκω G2240 V-AAS-1S Aor Act Subj — 'I should come/arrive'].

KEY: achri hou an hexo = 'until whenever I come/arrive.' The subjunctive mood (hexo) with an (modal particle) establishes a temporal extension to an INDEFINITE future event — the parousia. This is NOT disciplinary visitation vocabulary (contrast erchomai soi at 2:5 and 2:16). This is the temporal linchpin: Thyatira's instruction extends 'till I come' — to the Second Coming.

Rev 2:5

Greek Text: μνημόνευε οὖν πόθεν πέπτωκες, καὶ μετανόησον καὶ τὰ πρῶτα ἔργα ποίησον· εἰ δὲ μή, ἔρχομαί σοι καὶ κινήσω τὴν λυχνίαν σου ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτῆς, ἐὰν μὴ μετανοήσῃς.

μνημόνευε [μνημονεύω G3421 V-PAM-2S Pres Act Impv] | οὖν [G3767 CONJ] | πόθεν [G4159 ADV-I] | πέπτωκες [πίπτω G4098 V-RAI-2S Perf Act Ind] | καὶ [G2532 CONJ] | μετανόησον [μετανοέω G3340 V-AAM-2S Aor Act Impv] | τὰ πρῶτα ἔργα [G3588+G4413+G2041 T-APN A-APN-S N-APN] | ποίησον [ποιέω G4160 V-AAM-2S Aor Act Impv] | εἰ δὲ μή [G1487+G1161+G3361 conditional] | ἔρχομαί [ἔρχομαι G2064 V-PNI-1S Pres M/P Ind — 'I am coming'] | σοι [σύ G4771 P-2DS] | κινήσω [κινέω G2795 V-FAI-1S Fut Act Ind — 'I will remove'] | τὴν λυχνίαν [λυχνία G3087 N-ASF] | ἐὰν μὴ μετανοήσῃς [μετανοέω G3340 V-AAS-2S Aor Act Subj — 'unless you repent'].

KEY: metanoeson (G3340) = aorist active imperative, urgent command to repent. erchomai soi = present middle/passive indicative 'I am coming to you' — disciplinary visitation vocabulary, distinct from parousia language. Two metanoeo forms: imperative (command) and subjunctive (condition).

Rev 2:7

Greek Text: Ὁ ἔχων οὖς ἀκουσάτω τί τὸ Πνεῦμα λέγει ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις. Τῷ νικῶντι δώσω αὐτῷ φαγεῖν ἐκ τοῦ ξύλου τῆς ζωῆς, ὅ ἐστιν ἐν τῷ Παραδείσῳ τοῦ Θεοῦ.

Ὁ ἔχων [ἔχω G2192 V-PAP-NSM Pres Act Ptcp — 'the one having'] | οὖς [G3775 N-ASN — 'an ear'] | ἀκουσάτω [ἀκούω G191 V-AAM-3S Aor Act Impv — 'let him hear'] | τί [G5101 I-ASN] | τὸ Πνεῦμα [πνεῦμα G4151 N-NSN — 'the Spirit'] | λέγει [λέγω G3004 V-PAI-3S — 'says'] | ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις [ἐκκλησία G1577 N-DPF Dat Pl F — 'to the churches'] | Τῷ νικῶντι [νικάω G3528 V-PAP-DSM Pres Act Ptcp Dat Sg M — 'to the one overcoming'] | δώσω [δίδωμι G1325 V-FAI-1S Fut Act Ind — 'I will give'] | φαγεῖν [ἐσθίω G5315 V-2AAN Aor Act Inf — 'to eat'] | ἐκ τοῦ ξύλου τῆς ζωῆς [ξύλον G3586 N-GSN + ζωή G2222 N-GSF — 'from the tree of life'] | ἐν τῷ Παραδείσῳ τοῦ Θεοῦ [παράδεισος G3857 N-DSM — 'in the paradise of God'].

KEY: ho nikon (νικῶντι) = present active participle dative singular masculine — 'the one [presently/continuously] overcoming.' This is ongoing action, not a completed event. The ear formula uses dative plural ekklesiais — each letter is heard by ALL churches, not just the addressee.

Rev 3:11

Greek Text: ἔρχομαι ταχύ· κράτει ὃ ἔχεις, ἵνα μηδεὶς λάβῃ τὸν στέφανόν σου.

ἔρχομαι [G2064 V-PNI-1S Pres M/P Ind — 'I am coming'] | ταχύ [ταχύς G5035 ADV — 'quickly'] | κράτει [κρατέω G2902 V-PAM-2S Pres Act Impv — 'hold fast'] | ὃ ἔχεις [ὅς G3739 + ἔχω G2192 V-PAI-2S — 'what you have'] | ἵνα μηδεὶς λάβῃ [μηδείς G3367 + λαμβάνω G2983 V-2AAS-3S — 'so that no one takes'] | τὸν στέφανόν σου [στέφανος G4735 N-ASM — 'your crown'].

KEY: erchomai tachy = present tense 'I am coming quickly.' IDENTICAL language to Rev 22:7,12,20 — the eschatological parousia formula. This is near-parousia language. stephanos (crown) is exclusive to Smyrna (2:10) and Philadelphia (3:11) in the letter section — B-B' pair marker.

Rev 3:14

Greek Text: Καὶ τῷ ἀγγέλῳ τῆς ἐν Λαοδικίᾳ ἐκκλησίας γράψον Τάδε λέγει ὁ Ἀμήν, ὁ μάρτυς ὁ πιστὸς καὶ ἀληθινός, ἡ ἀρχὴ τῆς κτίσεως τοῦ Θεοῦ

τῷ ἀγγέλῳ [ἄγγελος G32 N-DSM — 'to the angel'] | τῆς ἐν Λαοδικίᾳ ἐκκλησίας [ἐκκλησία G1577 N-GSF + Λαοδίκεια G2993 — 'of the church in Laodicea'] | γράψον [γράφω G1125 V-AAM-2S — 'write'] | Τάδε λέγει [ὅδε G3592 D-APN + λέγω G3004 V-PAI-3S — 'these things says'] | ὁ Ἀμήν [ἀμήν G281 HEB — 'the Amen'] | ὁ μάρτυς ὁ πιστὸς καὶ ἀληθινός [μάρτυς G3144 N-NSM + πιστός G4103 A-NSM + ἀληθινός G228 A-NSM — 'the witness the faithful and true'] | ἡ ἀρχὴ τῆς κτίσεως τοῦ Θεοῦ [ἀρχή G746 N-NSF + κτίσις G2937 N-GSF + θεός G2316 N-GSM — 'the beginning of the creation of God'].

KEY: Self-ID draws from OUTSIDE Rev 1:12-20 vision entirely. 'The Amen' = unique divine title. 'Faithful and true witness' echoes Rev 1:5 (prologue, not vision). 'The beginning of the creation of God' (he arche tes ktiseos tou theou) = unique material with no vision source. arche (G746) can mean 'beginning/origin/ruler/first cause.' Source-divergence pattern complete at this final letter.

Rev 3:20

Greek Text: Ἰδοὺ ἕστηκα ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν καὶ κρούω· ἐάν τις ἀκούσῃ τῆς φωνῆς μου καὶ ἀνοίξῃ τὴν θύραν, εἰσελεύσομαι πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ δειπνήσω μετ' αὐτοῦ καὶ αὐτὸς μετ' ἐμοῦ.

Ἰδοὺ [ὁράω G3708 — 'behold'] | ἕστηκα [ἵστημι G2476 V-RAI-1S Perf Act Ind — 'I have stood (and continue standing)'] | ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν [θύρα G2374 N-ASF — 'at the door'] | κρούω [G2925 V-PAI-1S Pres Act Ind — 'I knock/am knocking'] | ἐάν τις ἀκούσῃ [ἀκούω G191 V-AAS-3S — 'if anyone should hear'] | τῆς φωνῆς μου [φωνή G5456 N-GSF — 'my voice'] | ἀνοίξῃ [ἀνοίγω G455 V-AAS-3S — 'and should open'] | τὴν θύραν [G2374 — 'the door'] | εἰσελεύσομαι [εἰσέρχομαι G1525 V-FDI-1S Fut Mid Ind — 'I will come in'] | δειπνήσω [δειπνέω G1172 V-FAI-1S Fut Act Ind — 'I will sup/dine'] | μετ' αὐτοῦ καὶ αὐτὸς μετ' ἐμοῦ [— 'with him and he with me'].

KEY: hesteka (ἕστηκα) = PERFECT ACTIVE INDICATIVE of histemi — 'I have taken my stand and continue standing.' The perfect tense indicates an ongoing state resulting from a completed action. This is the MOST INTIMATE parousia language in the letters — Christ at the door, knocking, waiting. Not disciplinary visitation but personal presence seeking entry. The communion language (deipneso, dining together) adds eschatological banquet overtones.

Rev 3:3

Greek Text: μνημόνευε οὖν πῶς εἴληφας καὶ ἤκουσας, καὶ τήρει καὶ μετανόησον. ἐὰν οὖν μὴ γρηγορήσῃς, ἥξω ὡς κλέπτης, καὶ οὐ μὴ γνῷς ποίαν ὥραν ἥξω ἐπὶ σέ.

μνημόνευε [μνημονεύω G3421 V-PAM-2S — 'remember'] | εἴληφας [λαμβάνω G2983 V-2RAI-2S Perf Act Ind — 'you have received'] | ἤκουσας [ἀκούω G191 V-AAI-2S — 'and heard'] | τήρει [τηρέω G5083 V-PAM-2S — 'keep/guard'] | μετανόησον [μετανοέω G3340 V-AAM-2S — 'repent'] | γρηγορήσῃς [γρηγορέω G1127 V-AAS-2S Aor Act Subj — 'you should watch'] | ἥξω [ἥκω G2240 V-FAI-1S Fut Act Ind — 'I will come'] | ὡς κλέπτης [κλέπτης G2812 N-NSM — 'as a thief'] | γνῷς [γινώσκω G1097 V-2AAS-2S — 'you should know'] | ὥραν [ὥρα G5610 N-ASF — 'hour'] | ἥξω ἐπὶ σέ [ἥκω G2240 V-FAI-1S + ἐπί G1909 + σύ G4771 — 'I will come upon you'].

KEY: hexo hos kleptes = 'I will come as a thief.' FUTURE active indicative — escalation from disciplinary erchomai (present) to future thief-coming. mnemoneuo links to Ephesus 2:5 (cross-pair vocabulary A to C').

Rev 5:5

Greek Text: καὶ εἷς ἐκ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων λέγει μοι Μὴ κλαῖε· ἰδοὺ ἐνίκησεν ὁ Λέων ὁ ἐκ τῆς φυλῆς Ἰούδα, ἡ Ῥίζα Δαυείδ, ἀνοῖξαι τὸ βιβλίον καὶ τὰς ἑπτὰ σφραγῖδας αὐτοῦ.

ἐνίκησεν [νικάω G3528 V-AAI-3S Aor Act Ind — 'has overcome/conquered'] | ὁ Λέων [λέων G3023 N-NSM — 'the Lion'] | ἐκ τῆς φυλῆς Ἰούδα [φυλή G5443 — 'of the tribe of Judah'] | ἡ Ῥίζα Δαυείδ [ῥίζα G4491 — 'the Root of David'] | ἀνοῖξαι [ἀνοίγω G455 V-AAN — 'to open'] | τὸ βιβλίον [G975 — 'the book'] | τὰς ἑπτὰ σφραγῖδας [ἑπτά G2033 + σφραγίς G4973 — 'the seven seals'].

KEY: enikesen (ἐνίκησεν) = AORIST ACTIVE INDICATIVE — Christ's COMPLETED victory. This is the tense pivot in the nikao chain: the letters use present participle (ongoing overcoming), here Christ's victory is completed (aorist), and at 17:14 it is future (eschatological resolution). The Lion/Lamb paradox immediately follows: the announced Lion appears as a slain Lamb (5:6), redefining victory as sacrificial death.
