The Final Fate of the Wicked — Bible Study Guide Series

A 19-study investigation of what Scripture explicitly says about death, the soul, immortality, and the fate of the wicked.

How to Use This Series

Each study has four files:

File Level Contains Answers?
beginner-questions.md Beginner No — questions only
beginner-answers.md Beginner Yes — full answer key
advanced-questions.md Advanced No — questions only
advanced-answers.md Advanced Yes — full answer key

All 20 study folders follow this four-file structure (80 study files + this README = 81 files total).

Beginner level focuses on reading Scripture and observing what the text says. No prior knowledge of Hebrew, Greek, or theology is needed.

Advanced level includes original-language word studies, cross-referencing, counter-arguments, and evidence classification exercises.

The Core Skill: Explicit vs. Inference

Every study in this series teaches one critical skill: distinguishing between what the Bible says and what people claim the Bible teaches.

  • Explicit — You can point to a verse and quote it. The text directly says this.
  • Necessary Implication — No single verse says this word-for-word, but it unavoidably follows from what the text does say. No interpretation is needed.
  • Inference — Someone claims the Bible teaches this, but no verse says it and no combination of verses forces it. Something must be added beyond what the text contains.

The hierarchy matters: Explicit > Necessary Implication > Inference. An inference cannot override what the text explicitly states.

Methodology

This series is based on the etc6 research series, which investigated every relevant biblical passage using a rigorous evidence classification system. The studies present evidence from all sides — both conditionalist and eternal conscious torment (ECT) positions — and classify each piece of evidence by what the text actually says.

The approach is investigative, not advocacy. The goal is to let the reader see what the text says and draw their own conclusions from the evidence.

Source Studies

Each study guide is derived from a detailed research study with full evidence tables, word studies, and cross-references. The source studies are located in the bible-studies/etc6-* directories.
