Greek Parsing — Raw Data

Hebrews 9:7 (High priest enters once yearly)

Key words:
- εἰς τὴν δευτέραν (eis ten deuteran) — "into the second [tabernacle]" (Acc Sg F)
- ἅπαξ (hapax, G530) — ADV "once" — contrasts with daily service
- τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ (tou eniautou) — "of the year" (Gen Sg M)
- μόνος (monos, G3441) — A-NSM "alone" — corresponds to "no man" of Lev 16:17
- ὁ ἀρχιερεύς (ho archiereus, G749) — "the high priest" (Nom Sg M)
- οὐ χωρὶς αἵματος (ou choris haimatos) — "not without blood" (litotes)
- ὃ προσφέρει (ho prospherei) — "which he offers" (Pres Act Ind — ongoing/repeated)
- ὑπὲρ ἑαυτοῦ (huper heautou) — "for himself" (cf. Lev 16:6,11)
- τῶν τοῦ λαοῦ ἀγνοημάτων (ton tou laou agnoēmatōn, G51) — "the errors/sins of ignorance of the people" (Gen Pl N)

NOTE: agnoēma (G51) = "error, sin of ignorance" — translates the Hebrew concept in Lev 16:16 (uncleanness, transgressions, sins). Only occurrence in NT.

Hebrews 9:12 (Christ's entry — once for all)

Key words:
- οὐδὲ δι' αἵματος τράγων καὶ μόσχων (oude di' haimatos tragon kai moschon) — "neither by blood of goats and calves" (Gen Pl — cf. Lev 16 goat + bull)
  - τράγος (tragos, G5131) — "he-goat" — corresponds to Heb se'ir
  - μόσχος (moschos, G3448) — "calf/young bull" — corresponds to Heb par
- διὰ δὲ τοῦ ἰδίου αἵματος (dia de tou idiou haimatos) — "but through his own blood" (Gen Sg N)
  - ἴδιος (idios, G2398) — "his own" — the substitution: his blood replaces animal blood
- εἰσῆλθεν (eisēlthen, G1525) — V-2AAI-3S "he entered" — Aorist Act Ind = completed past action
- ἐφάπαξ (ephapax, G2178) — ADV "once for all" — STRONGER than ἅπαξ (hapax); definitively, permanently, unrepeatable
- εἰς τὰ ἅγια (eis ta hagia, G40) — "into the holy [places]" — Acc Pl N (neuter plural = sanctuary/holiest)
- αἰωνίαν λύτρωσιν (aiōnian lutrosin) — "eternal redemption" (Acc Sg F)
  - αἰώνιος (aiōnios, G166) — "eternal, age-long"
  - λύτρωσις (lutrosis, G3085) — "redemption, ransoming" (cf. H3724 kopher)
- εὑράμενος (heuramenos, G2147) — V-2AMP-NSM "having obtained" — Aorist Mid Ptcp (Nom Sg M)
  - Middle voice: "having secured for himself [and others]"

CRITICAL: The contrast structure:
NOT by blood of goats and calves (= Lev 16 DOA)
BUT by his own blood (= Christ's sacrifice)
he entered ONCE FOR ALL (= unrepeatable vs. annual)
into the holy places (= heavenly sanctuary)
having obtained ETERNAL redemption (= vs. temporary)

Hebrews 9:25 (Not to offer repeatedly)

Key words:
- οὐδ' ἵνα (oud' hina) — "nor that" (purpose negation)
- πολλάκις (pollakis, G4178) — ADV "often, many times"
- προσφέρῃ (prospherē, G4374) — V-PAS-3S "he should offer" — Pres Act Subj (subjunctive = hypothetical)
- ἑαυτόν (heauton) — "himself" (Acc Sg M — Christ as both priest and offering)
- ὥσπερ (hōsper, G5618) — ADV "just as" (comparison to OT high priest)
- ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἰσέρχεται (ho archiereus eiserchetai) — "the high priest enters" — Pres M/P Ind (gnomic present: customary action)
- εἰς τὰ ἅγια (eis ta hagia) — "into the holy [places]"
- κατ' ἐνιαυτόν (kat' eniauton) — "year by year" / "annually" (cf. Lev 16:34 "once a year")
- ἐν αἵματι ἀλλοτρίῳ (en haimati allotriō) — "with blood of another/foreign" (Dat Sg N)
  - ἀλλότριος (allotrios, G245) — "belonging to another" — the blood is not the high priest's own

CRITICAL: The comparison: earthly high priest enters annually with blood that is not his own (animal blood); Christ does NOT enter repeatedly but ONCE with his own blood.

Revelation 15:8 (No man able to enter — DOA parallel)

- ἐδύνατο (edunato, G1410) — V-INI-3S "was able" — Impf M/P Ind (ongoing inability)
- εἰσελθεῖν (eiselthein, G1525) — V-2AAN "to enter" — Aorist Act Inf
- εἰς τὸν ναόν (eis ton naon) — "into the temple"
- ἄχρι (achri, G891) — ADV "until" (cf. Lev 16:17 "until he come out")

- αἱ ἑπτὰ πληγαί (hai hepta plēgai) — "the seven plagues" (Nom Pl F)

CRITICAL PARALLELS WITH LEV 16:17:
| Leviticus 16:17 | Revelation 15:8 |
|------------------|-----------------|
| כָל אָדָם (kol adam) "every man" | οὐδεὶς (oudeis) "no one" |
| לֹא יִהְיֶה (lo yihyeh) "shall not be" (PROHIBITION) | ἐδύνατο (edunato) "was able" (INABILITY) |
| בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד (be-ohel mo'ed) "in tent of meeting" | εἰς τὸν ναόν (eis ton naon) "into the temple" |
| עַד צֵאתוֹ (ad tse'to) "until his going out" | ἄχρι τελεσθῶσιν (achri telesthōsin) "until completed" |
| Incense cloud covers mercy seat (v.13) | Smoke from glory fills temple |

NOTE: The escalation from type to antitype: OT = prohibition ("shall not be"), NT = inability ("was not able") — the antitype INTENSIFIES the type.
