GRAMMATICAL NOTES: - ἕστηκεν (Perfect Active Indicative): "has stood and continues to stand" — perfect tense = completed action with ongoing result. The priest stands in a permanent posture of service. - καθ' ἡμέραν: "day by day" / "daily" — mirrors the Hebrew tamid concept - λειτουργῶν (Present Active Participle): "ministering" — ongoing liturgical service (from λειτουργέω, related to G3009 λειτουργία) - προσφέρων (Present Active Participle): "offering" — continuously offering the same sacrifices - οὐδέποτε δύνανται περιελεῖν: "are NEVER able to take away" — emphatic negative. The daily Levitical sacrifices can never remove sin. - CONTRAST with v.12: "But this [man], after he had offered ONE sacrifice for sins FOR EVER, sat down" — the sitting vs. standing contrast is critical.

GRAMMATICAL NOTES: - ὁ Ἀμνὸς τοῦ Θεοῦ: "THE Lamb of God" — the article is definite/particular. Not "a lamb" but THE specific Lamb that God provides. Echoes Gen 22:8 "God will provide himself a lamb." - ἀμνός (G286): used only 4x in NT (John 1:29,36; Acts 8:32; 1 Pet 1:19). Distinguished from ἀρνίον (G721, used 30x in Revelation for the glorified Lamb). ἀμνός = sacrificial lamb; ἀρνίον = triumphant Lamb. - αἴρων (Present Active Participle): "the one taking away" — present tense = ongoing action. The Lamb continually takes away sin. Not a one-time event in grammar, though the sacrifice is once-for-all. - τὴν ἁμαρτίαν (SINGULAR "the sin"): not "sins" (plural) but "THE sin" of the world — the collective sin principle, not individual transgressions.

GRAMMATICAL NOTES: - Four-fold ascending Christological chain: died → raised → at God's right hand → intercedes - ἐντυγχάνει (Present Active Indicative): "is making intercession" — present tense = currently ongoing activity. Right now, at God's right hand, Christ intercedes. - The same verb (ἐντυγχάνω G1793) appears in v.27 for the Spirit's intercession and here for Christ's — both use present tense, indicating ongoing present-time intercession. - ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν "on behalf of us" — the intercession is specifically for believers.
