Key finding: חַג הַסֻּכֹּות = "festival of the booths" -- the word סֻּכֹּות (sukkot) is the plural of סֻכָּה (sukkah, H5521). The LXX renders this as σκηνή (skene, G4633) with a PMI of 16.97.

Key finding: סֻּכֹּת appears TWICE in this verse, framing the command to dwell. The verb ישׁב (yashav, "dwell/sit") is used, not שׁכן (shakan). But the sukkah itself is the object -- the dwelling is IN the sukkah.

Isaiah 4:6

Key finding: This is the SAME word סֻכָּה (sukkah, H5521) used in Lev 23:34,42 for the Feast of Tabernacles. Isaiah uses the feast's own vocabulary for the eschatological shelter. Context: Isa 4:4 -- AFTER purification by "spirit of judgment and spirit of burning" (DOA imagery) THEN the sukkah provides shelter. This preserves the DOA-to-Tabernacles sequence.

Exodus 25:8

וְעָ֥שׂוּ לִ֖י מִקְדָּ֑שׁ וְשָׁכַנְתִּ֖י בְּתֹוכָֽם׃

Key finding: שָׁכַנְתִּי (shakanti) -- from שׁכן (shakan, H7931), the root of both מִשְׁכָּן (mishkan, "tabernacle/dwelling place") and the concept of Shekinah (divine presence). This is the foundational statement of sanctuary theology: God's PURPOSE in commanding the sanctuary is to DWELL (shakan) among His people. The LXX renders shakan with κατασκηνόω (kataskenoo, G2681) -- the compound form of skenoo (G4637).

Ezekiel 37:27

וְהָיָ֤ה מִשְׁכָּנִי֙ עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וְהָיִ֥יתִי לָהֶ֖ם לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים וְהֵ֖מָּה יִֽהְיוּ־לִ֥י לְעָֽם׃

Key finding: מִשְׁכָּנִי (mishkani) = "my mishkan" (dwelling place), derived from שׁכן (shakan). This is the covenant formula with the tabernacle/dwelling explicitly included. The trajectory: Exo 25:8 (shakanti, "I will dwell") -> Eze 37:27 (mishkani, "my dwelling place") -> Rev 21:3 (he skene tou theou, "the tabernacle of God" + skenosei, "shall dwell"). Same root concept across all three languages.

Zechariah 14:16

Key finding: This is the ONLY feast explicitly projected into the eschatological future. "All the nations" (כָּל־הַגֹּויִם) who remain after the final conflict will celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles (חַג הַסֻּכֹּות). This matches Rev 7:9 (all nations, tribes, peoples, tongues) and Rev 21:3 (plural laoi, "peoples"). Tabernacles is the universal feast.
