REV 3:1 — Sardis Self-Description

Key observations: - ὁ Ἀμήν (ho Amēn) — "the Amen" (personification of certainty; cf. Isa 65:16 LXX "God of truth/Amen") - ὁ μάρτυς ὁ πιστὸς καὶ ἀληθινός — "the witness, the faithful and true" (triple article = emphatic identification) - ἡ ἀρχὴ τῆς κτίσεως τοῦ Θεοῦ (hē archē tēs ktiseōs tou theou) — "the beginning/origin/source of the creation of God" - ἀρχή (archē) = G746, Nom Sg F — can mean: (1) beginning in time, (2) origin/source, (3) ruler/authority (cf. REV 3:15-16 — Temperature Terms

Greek (3:15): Οἶδά σου τὰ ἔργα, ὅτι οὔτε ψυχρὸς εἶ οὔτε ζεστός. ὄφελον ψυχρὸς ἦς ἢ ζεστός. Greek (3:16): οὕτως, ὅτι χλιαρὸς εἶ, καὶ οὔτε ζεστὸς οὔτε ψυχρός, μέλλω σε ἐμέσαι ἐκ τοῦ στόματός μου.

REV 3:21 — Throne Promise (CLIMAX)

Greek: Ὁ νικῶν δώσω αὐτῷ καθίσαι μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἐν τῷ θρόνῳ μου, ὡς κἀγὼ ἐνίκησα καὶ ἐκάθισα μετὰ τοῦ Πατρός μου ἐν τῷ θρόνῳ αὐτοῦ.
