Daniel 8:1-27 — The Vision of the Ram, Goat, and 2300 Evening-Morning¶
Daniel 8:1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, [even unto] me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first. Daniel 8:2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I [was] at Shushan [in] the palace, which [is] in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai. Daniel 8:3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had [two] horns: and the [two] horns [were] high; but one [was] higher than the other, and the higher came up last. Daniel 8:4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither [was there any] that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great. Daniel 8:5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat [had] a notable horn between his eyes. Daniel 8:6 And he came to the ram that had [two] horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. Daniel 8:7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. Daniel 8:8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. Daniel 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant [land]. Daniel 8:10 And it waxed great, [even] to the host of heaven; and it cast down [some] of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. Daniel 8:11 Yea, he magnified [himself] even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily [sacrifice] was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. Daniel 8:12 And an host was given [him] against the daily [sacrifice] by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered. Daniel 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain [saint] which spake, How long [shall be] the vision [concerning] the daily [sacrifice], and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? Daniel 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. Daniel 8:15 And it came to pass, when I, [even] I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. Daniel 8:16 And I heard a man's voice between [the banks of] Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this [man] to understand the vision. Daniel 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end [shall be] the vision. Daniel 8:18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright. Daniel 8:19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end [shall be]. Daniel 8:20 The ram which thou sawest having [two] horns [are] the kings of Media and Persia. Daniel 8:21 And the rough goat [is] the king of Grecia: and the great horn that [is] between his eyes [is] the first king. Daniel 8:22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. Daniel 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. Daniel 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. Daniel 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify [himself] in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. Daniel 8:26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told [is] true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it [shall be] for many days. Daniel 8:27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick [certain] days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood [it].
Critical Note on 8:14: The KJV translates "cleansed" following the LXX (katharisthesetai). The Hebrew is נִצְדַּק (nitsdaq) — Niphal Perfect 3ms of צָדַק (tsadaq, H6663), meaning "be justified/vindicated," NOT "be cleansed." See Word Studies (04-word-studies.md) for full analysis.
Critical Note on 8:26: "The evening and the morning" (ha-erev ve-ha-boqer) — with definite articles and conjunction, back-referencing the bare erev boqer of 8:14. Daniel uses yamim ("days") in 8:26b ("for many days/yamim rabbim") but erev boqer in 8:14 — a deliberate distinction.
Primary Verses — Daniel 7 (Full Chapter — Judgment Scene)¶
Daniel 7:1-28 — The Four Beasts, the Ancient of Days, and the Son of Man¶
Daniel 7:1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, [and] told the sum of the matters. Daniel 7:2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. Daniel 7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. Daniel 7:4 The first [was] like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. Daniel 7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and [it had] three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. Daniel 7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it [was] diverse from all the beasts that [were] before it; and it had ten horns. Daniel 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn [were] eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment [was] white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne [was like] the fiery flame, [and] his wheels [as] burning fire. Daniel 7:10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. Daniel 7:11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld [even] till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. Daniel 7:12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. Daniel 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, [one] like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. Daniel 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:15 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of [my] body, and the visions of my head troubled me. Daniel 7:16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. Daniel 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, [are] four kings, [which] shall arise out of the earth. Daniel 7:18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. Daniel 7:19-20 [Fourth beast described again] Daniel 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; Daniel 7:22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. Daniel 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. Daniel 7:24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom [are] ten kings [that] shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Daniel 7:26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy [it] unto the end. Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. Daniel 7:28 Hitherto [is] the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.
Key observations: - 7:9 — "thrones were cast down" = thrones were SET UP (placed) for the judgment - 7:10 — "the judgment was set, and the books were opened" — courtroom language - 7:13 — Son of Man "came TO the Ancient of days" — direction is toward God, not toward earth - 7:22 — "judgment was given TO the saints" = verdict in favor of the saints - 7:25-26 — After the horn's period ends, "the judgment shall sit" — the judgment commences
Primary Verses — Daniel 9:20-27 (Gabriel's Explanation with Shared Vocabulary)¶
Daniel 9:20 And whiles I [was] speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God; Daniel 9:21 Yea, whiles I [was] speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. Daniel 9:22 And he informed [me], and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. Daniel 9:23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew [thee]; for thou [art] greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Shared vocabulary between 8:13-14 and 9:24: - pesha (H6588, rebellion/transgression): 8:12 "by reason of transgression," 8:13 "the transgression of desolation" → 9:24 "to finish the transgression" - tsedeq (H6664, righteousness, same root as tsadaq H6663): 8:14 "nitsdaq" → 9:24 "everlasting righteousness" (tsedeq olamim) - kaphar (H3722, atonement): NOT in 8:14 → but in 9:24 "make reconciliation for iniquity" - qodesh (H6944, holiness/sanctuary): 8:13-14 "sanctuary" → 9:24 "anoint the most Holy" (qodesh qodashim) - chazon (vision): 8:13,15,17,26 → 9:24 "seal up the vision" - Gabriel: 8:16 → 9:21 (same angel returns to explain)
Primary Verses — Daniel 12 (Uses yamim instead of erev boqer)¶
Daniel 12:11 And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days [yamim]. Daniel 12:12 Blessed [is] he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days [yamim]. Daniel 12:13 But go thou thy way till the end [be]: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days [yamim].
Key contrast: Daniel uses yamim ("days") in 12:11-13 but erev boqer ("evening-morning") in 8:14 — proving the distinction is deliberate.

Job 25:3 Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise? Job 25:4 How then can man be justified [yitsdaq, H6663 Qal Impf] with God? or how can he be clean [that is] born of a woman? Job 25:5 Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight. Job 25:6 How much less man, [that is] a worm? and the son of man, [which is] a worm?

Job 42:8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you [after your] folly, in that ye have not spoken of me [the thing which is] right, like my servant Job.
Psalms Justification Texts¶
Psalm 51:1-6¶
Psalm 51:1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Psalm 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse [taher, H2891] me from my sin. Psalm 51:3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin [is] ever before me. Psalm 51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done [this] evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified [titsdaq, H6663 Qal Impf] when thou speakest, [and] be clear when thou judgest [shaphat, H8199]. Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Psalm 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden [part] thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Note: Psalm 51:4 uses BOTH tsadaq (justified) and taher (cleanse, v.2) in the same psalm — showing David distinguished the two. When he wants ritual cleansing, he uses taher. When he wants forensic vindication, he uses tsadaq.
Psalm 143:1-2¶
Psalm 143:1 Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, [and] in thy righteousness. Psalm 143:2 And enter not into judgment [mishpat] with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified [yitsdaq, H6663 Qal Impf].
Isaiah Justification/Vindication Passages¶
Isaiah 43:9,26¶
Isaiah 43:9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified [yitsdaqu, H6663 Qal Impf]: or let them hear, and say, [It is] truth.
Isaiah 43:26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together [nishshaphetah, H8199 Niphal]: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified [titsdaq, H6663 Qal Impf].
Note: Both uses are in courtroom contexts — witnesses, pleading, trial language.
Isaiah 45:25¶
Isaiah 45:25 In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified [yitsdaqu, H6663 Qal Impf], and shall glory.
Isaiah 50:8¶
Isaiah 50:8 [He is] near that justifieth [matsdiq, H6663 Hiphil] me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who [is] mine adversary [mishpat]? let him come near to me.
Isaiah 53:11¶
Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify [yatsdiq, H6663 Hiphil] many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Forensic Proverbs/Deuteronomy¶
Deuteronomy 25:1¶
Deuteronomy 25:1 If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that [the judges] may judge them; then they shall justify [hitsdiq, H6663 Hiphil] the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
Proverbs 17:15¶
Proverbs 17:15 He that justifieth [matsdiq, H6663 Hiphil] the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both [are] abomination to the LORD.
Creation Evening-Morning Pattern¶
Genesis 1:1-8,13,19,23,31¶
Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening [ereb] and [ve] the morning [boqer] were the first day. Genesis 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. Genesis 1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day. Genesis 1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. Genesis 1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Genesis 1 formula: vayhi-ereb vayhi-boqer yom [ordinal] — "and-there-was evening and-there-was morning, day [number]" - Has conjunction (ve) - Has verb (vayhi, "and there was") - Has yom ("day") - Evening comes first, then morning
Daniel 8:14: erev boqer — bare nouns, NO conjunction, NO verb, NO yom Daniel 8:26: ha-erev ve-ha-boqer — definite articles + conjunction (back-reference)
Day of Atonement Comparison¶
Leviticus 23:32¶
Leviticus 23:32 It [shall be] unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth [day] of the month at even [ba-ereb], from even [me-ereb] unto even [ereb], shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
DOA formula: me-ereb ad-ereb — "from evening to evening" - Has prepositions (me-, ad) - NO morning component at all - Defines day by BOUNDARY MARKERS (evening to evening) - Contrast with Genesis/Daniel which define day by COMPONENTS (evening + morning = cycle)
Leviticus 16:19,30¶
Leviticus 16:19 And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse [taher, H2891 Piel] it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
Leviticus 16:30 For on that day shall [the priest] make an atonement [kaphar, H3722 Piel] for you, to cleanse [taher, H2891 Piel] you, [that] ye may be clean [titharu, H2891 Qal] from all your sins before the LORD.
Key: The Day of Atonement uses taher (cleanse) and kaphar (atone) — NEVER tsadaq (justify/vindicate). Daniel's choice of tsadaq in 8:14 is therefore deliberately distinct from DOA ritual vocabulary.
Hebrews — Heavenly Sanctuary¶
Hebrews 8:1-5¶
Hebrews 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken [this is] the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; Hebrews 8:2 A minister [leitourgos] of the sanctuary [ton hagion], and of the true tabernacle [tes skenes tes alethines], which the Lord pitched, and not man. Hebrews 8:3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore [it is] of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. Hebrews 8:4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Hebrews 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow [hypodeigmati kai skia] of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, [that] thou make all things according to the pattern [typon] shewed to thee in the mount.
Hebrews 9:11-24¶
Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us]. Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Hebrews 9:15-22 [The testament/covenant ratified by blood] Hebrews 9:23 [It was] therefore necessary that the patterns [hypodeigmata] of things in the heavens should be purified [katharizesthai, G2511] with these; but the heavenly things themselves [auta de ta epourania] with better sacrifices [kreittosiv thysiais] than these. Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands [cheiropoieta], [which are] the figures [antitypa] of the true [ton alethinon]; but into heaven itself [auton ton ouranon], now to appear in the presence of God for us [hyper hemon]: Hebrews 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Revelation Judgment Passages¶
Revelation 11:18-19¶
Revelation 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Revelation 14:6-12¶
Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Revelation 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Revelation 14:9-11 [Third angel's message — warning against beast worship] Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Greek parsing of Rev 14:7: "elthen" (erchomai, Aorist Active Indicative 3S) — "has come/arrived." "krisis" (G2920) — judgment/tribunal. "poiesanti" (poieo, Aorist Active Participle) — "the one having made" = Creator. This verse links judgment AND creation — matching the Dan 8:14 evening-morning (creation) + nitsdaq (judgment) pattern.
Revelation 15:5-8¶
Revelation 15:5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened: Revelation 15:6-7 [Seven angels with seven plagues] Revelation 15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
Zechariah 3:1-7 — Courtroom Vindication Model¶
Zechariah 3:1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. Zechariah 3:2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: [is] not this a brand plucked out of the fire? Zechariah 3:3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. Zechariah 3:4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. Zechariah 3:5 And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by. Zechariah 3:6-7 [Conditional promise to Joshua]
Courtroom structure: Accused (Joshua) + Accuser (Satan) + Judge (the LORD) + Verdict (filthy garments removed, new garments given) = vindication. This is the same structure as Daniel 7:9-14 (judgment scene) leading to Daniel 8:14 (verdict: sanctuary vindicated).
Romans Justification Link¶
Romans 8:30-34¶
Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified [edikaiosen, G1344]: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us? Romans 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? [It is] God that justifieth [dikaion, G1344]. Romans 8:34 Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Note: Rom 8:33-34 uses the same courtroom structure as Zechariah 3: accusation → defense → verdict. "Who shall lay charge?" = the accuser. "God that justifieth" = the judge who vindicates. "Christ that died... maketh intercession" = the defense advocate.
Exodus — Evening to Morning in Sanctuary Service¶
Exodus 27:21¶
Exodus 27:21 In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which [is] before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: [it shall be] a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.
Note: The daily sanctuary service ran from evening to morning — matching the erev boqer cycle of Dan 8:14. The daily (tamid) sacrifice and the lamp service defined the regular sanctuary rhythm as evening-morning.
