- שַׂגִּיא (saggi) = much/great, Adj.ms.Abs
- צַלְמָא (tsalma) = the statue (emphatic), Noun.ms
- דִּכֵּן (dikken) = that (demonstrative), DemPron.s

- נְחָשׁ (n'chash) = copper/bronze
NOTE: Each body part introduced with דִּי (di, "of") + material. No temporal conjunctions or transition markers between body parts.
Daniel 2:33 — Legs and Feet
שָׁקֹהִי דִּי פַרְזֶל רַגְלֹהִי מִנְּהֵין דִּי פַרְזֶל וּמִנְּהֵין דִּי חֲסַף׃
Key words:
- שָׁקֹהִי (shaqohi) = his legs, Noun.md.Abs+3ms
- פַרְזֶל (parzel) = iron, Noun.ms.Abs
- רַגְלֹהִי (raglohi) = his feet, Noun.fd.Abs+3ms
- מִנְּהֵין (minhon) = from them (partitive), Prep+3fp
- חֲסַף (chasaph) = clay/potsherd, Noun.ms.Abs
NOTE: The legs-to-feet transition uses the SAME grammatical structure as all other body parts. No disjunctive clause, temporal conjunction, or gap marker. The minhon...minhon ("partly...partly") construction describes composition, not temporal distinction.
Daniel 2:34 — Stone Strikes the Feet
חָזֵה הֲוַיְתָ עַד דִּי הִתְגְּזֶרֶת אֶבֶן דִּי־לָא בִידַיִן וּמְחָת לְצַלְמָא עַל־רַגְלֹהִי דִּי פַרְזְלָא וְחַסְפָּא וְהַדֵּקֶת הִמֹּון׃
Key verbs:
- הִתְגְּזֶרֶת (hitg'zeret) = was cut out, Verb.htpe.Perf.3fs — passive, divine action
- מְחָת (m'chat) = struck/hit, Verb.peal.Perf.3fs — simple action, completed
- הַדֵּקֶת (haddeqet) = crushed, Verb.haf.Perf.3fs — causative, "caused to be crushed"
Key nouns:
- אֶבֶן (eben) = stone, Noun.fs.Abs
- רַגְלֹהִי (raglohi) = his feet — specifically targets the feet
- פַרְזְלָא וְחַסְפָּא = the iron and the clay (emphatic forms)
NOTE: m'cha (strike) is peal perfect 3fs — completed action. The stone strikes the image UPON its feet (עַל רַגְלֹהִי), confirming the feet must exist when the stone strikes. The verb is action against the whole image but the point of impact is the feet.
Daniel 2:35 — Simultaneous Destruction (ka-chadah)
בֵּאדַיִן דָּקוּ כַחֲדָה פַּרְזְלָא חַסְפָּא נְחָשָׁא כַּסְפָּא וְדַהֲבָא...וְאַבְנָא דִּי מְחָת לְצַלְמָא הֲוָת לְטוּר רַב וּמְלָת כָּל־אַרְעָא׃
Key phrases:
- דָּקוּ (daqu) = were pulverized, Verb.peal.Perf.3mp — all metals as subject
- כַחֲדָה (ka-chadah) = as one/together, Prep + Noun.fs.Abs ("one") — CRITICAL: simultaneous action
- All five metals listed: פַּרְזְלָא חַסְפָּא נְחָשָׁא כַּסְפָּא וְדַהֲבָא (iron, clay, bronze, silver, gold)
- כְּעוּר מִן אִדְּרֵי קַיִט = like chaff from summer threshing floors
- נְשָׂא הִמֹּון רוּחָא = the wind carried them away
- לָא הִשְׁתֲּכַח = was not found (no place found for them)
- הֲוָת לְטוּר רַב = became a great mountain
- מְלָת כָּל אַרְעָא = filled the whole earth — Verb.peal.Perf.3fs of מלא (fill)
NOTE: מְלָת is peal perfect — completed action ("filled"), not progressive. However, prophetic perfects are common in Aramaic/Hebrew prophecy.
Daniel 2:37-38 — Nebuchadnezzar = Head of Gold
v37: מֶלֶךְ מַלְכַיָּא = king of kings (construct chain)
אֱלָהּ שְׁמַיָּא = God of heaven (construct)
מַלְכוּתָא חִסְנָא וְתָקְפָּא וִיקָרָא יְהַב לָךְ = kingdom, power, strength, glory He gave to you
v38: אנתה הוּא רֵאשָׁה דִּי דַהֲבָא = YOU are the head of gold
הַשְׁלְטָךְ = He caused you to rule (haf.Perf.3ms+2ms of שׁלט)
NOTE: Jer 27:6 parallel — God explicitly gives authority to Nebuchadnezzar. The verb יְהַב (give, peal perfect) shows direct divine bestowal.
Daniel 2:39 — Second and Third Kingdoms
וּבָתְרָךְ תְּקוּם מַלְכוּ אָחֳרִי אֲרַעא מִנָּךְ
Key: בָתְרָךְ (batarakh) = after you, Noun.ms.Abs+2ms
- Root באתר = "after" — indicates sequence
- תְּקוּם (t'qum) = shall arise, Verb.peal.Impf.3fs
- אָחֳרִי (ochori) = another, Adj.fs.Abs
- אֲרַעא מִנָּךְ (ar'a minnakh) = lower/inferior than you, Noun.fs+Prep+2ms
NOTE: batarakh expresses sequence ("after you"), not explicit temporal contiguity. The FUT argument that "after" allows gaps between kingdoms has some linguistic basis — the preposition batar simply means "after" in sequence.
Daniel 2:40 — Fourth Kingdom (Iron)
וּמַלְכוּ רְבִיעָאָה תֶּהֱוֵא תַקִּיפָה כְּפַרְזְלָא
Key verbs:
- מְהַדֵּק (m'haddeq) = crushing, Verb.haf.Ptcp.ms.Abs of דקק — same root as Dan 2:34,35,44
- חָשֵׁל (chashel) = hammering, Verb.peal.Ptcp.ms.Abs
- מְרָעַע (m'ra'a') = breaking, Verb.pael.Ptcp.ms.Abs
- תַּדִּק (taddiq) = it shall crush, Verb.haf.Impf.3fs of דקק
- תֵרֹעַ (tero'a) = it shall break, Verb.peal.Impf.3fs
NOTE: d'qaq (H1855) appears here as participle (מְהַדֵּק) and imperfect (תַּדִּק), the same root used in 2:34 (הַדֵּקֶת), 2:35 (דָּקוּ), 2:44 (תַּדִּק), and 7:7,19,23. This iron-crushing vocabulary chain threads through both visions.
Daniel 2:41-42 — Feet and Toes
v41: רַגְלַיָּא וְאֶצְבְּעָתָא = the feet and the toes
מַלְכוּ פְלִיגָה תֶּהֱוֵה = a divided kingdom it shall be
נִצְבְּתָא דִי פַרְזְלָא = firmness/planting of iron
מְעָרַב (m'arab) = mixed, Verb.pael.Ptcp.ms of ערב
v42: מִן קְצָת מַלְכוּתָא תֶּהֱוֵה תַקִּיפָה = from part the kingdom shall be strong
וּמִנַּהּ תֶּהֱוֵה תְבִירָה = and from it shall be broken
NOTE: פְלִיגָה (p'ligah) = divided, Verb.peal.Ptcp.fs — a divided kingdom. The text does NOT assign individual meaning to individual toes. אֶצְבְּעָתָא (etsb'ata) is simply the anatomical plural "toes." No number is given.
Daniel 2:43 — Mingle/Cleave
מִתְעָרְבִין לֶהֱוֹן בִּזְרַע אֲנָשָׁא וְלָא לֶהֱוֹן דָּבְקִין דְּנָה עִם דְּנָה
Key verbs:
- מִתְעָרְבִין (mit'arbin) = shall mingle themselves, Verb.htpa.Ptcp.mp.Abs of ערב — reflexive/reciprocal
- דָּבְקִין (dabqin) = adhering/cleaving, Verb.peal.Ptcp.mp.Abs of דבק
- זְרַע אֲנָשָׁא (z'ra' enasha) = seed of mankind, Noun.ms.Cst + Noun.ms
NOTE: דבק (dabaq) is the same root used in Gen 2:24 for marriage ("cleave unto his wife"). The "seed of men" mingling language likely refers to intermarriage (as in Dan 11:6,17 Seleucid-Ptolemaic marriages). The text says they shall NOT cleave — the mixture fails.
Daniel 2:44 — "In the Days of These Kings"
וּבְיֹומֵיהֹון דִּי מַלְכַיָּא אִנּוּן יְקִים אֱלָהּ שְׁמַיָּא מַלְכוּ דִּי לְעָלְמִין לָא תִתְחַבַּל
Key phrases:
- בְיֹומֵיהֹון (b'yomeihon) = in their days, Prep + Noun.mp.Abs+3mp
- מַלְכַיָּא (malkayya) = the kings (emphatic plural), Noun.mp
- אִנּוּן (innun) = they/those (demonstrative pronoun), PersPron.3mp — strengthens demonstrative force
- יְקִים (y'qim) = shall cause to stand/establish, Verb.haf.Impf.3ms of קום — causative
- אֱלָהּ שְׁמַיָּא (elah sh'mayya) = God of heaven — same phrase as 2:28,37
- מַלְכוּ (malku) = kingdom, Noun.fs.Abs — same word used for all four kingdoms
- לְעָלְמִין (l'almin) = forever, Prep+Noun.mp.Abs
- תִתְחַבַּל (titchabbal) = shall be destroyed, Verb.htpa.Impf.3fs of חבל
- תַּדִּק (taddiq) = it shall crush, Verb.haf.Impf.3fs of דקק
- תָסֵיף (tasef) = it shall put an end to, Verb.haf.Impf.3fs of סוף
- כָּל אִלֵּין מַלְכְוָתָא (kol illen malkvata) = all these kingdoms — אִלֵּין (illen) = these (demonstrative)
- תְּקוּם (t'qum) = shall stand, Verb.peal.Impf.3fs
- לְעָלְמַיָּא (l'almayya) = forever (emphatic)
NOTE: innun ("they/those") is a demonstrative pronoun that COULD point to the most recently described entity (the feet/toes kings) OR to the entire series of kings. The grammar alone is ambiguous. malkayya innun = "those kings" — the question is which kings the demonstrative references.
Daniel 2:45 — Stone from the Mountain
Key: אַחֲרֵי דְנָה (acharei d'nah) = after this — indicates what shall come "hereafter"
מִטּוּרָא אִתְגְּזֶרֶת אֶבֶן = from the mountain a stone was cut
דִּי לָא בִידַיִן = not by hands — divine origin
הַדֶּקֶת = crushed (haf.Perf.3fs of דקק)
יַצִּיב חֶלְמָא = the dream is reliable
מְהֵימַן פִּשְׁרֵהּ = its interpretation is trustworthy
Daniel 7:12 — Lives Prolonged
וּשְׁאָר חֵיוָתָא הֶעְדִּיו שָׁלְטָנְהֹון וְאַרְכָה בְחַיִּין יְהִיבַת לְהֹון עַד זְמַן וְעִדָּן׃
Key phrases:
- שְׁאָר חֵיוָתָא = the rest of the beasts
- הֶעְדִּיו שָׁלְטָנְהֹון = their dominion was taken away (haf.Perf.3mp of עדה + Noun+3mp)
- אַרְכָה בְחַיִּין = extension/prolongation in life (Noun.fs + Prep + Noun.mp)
- יְהִיבַת לְהֹון = was given to them (peil.Perf.3fs of יהב)
- עַד זְמַן וְעִדָּן = until a time and a season
NOTE: This verse explicitly states that the first three beasts lose dominion but their "lives" are prolonged. This is the FUT/HIST mechanism for explaining ka-chadah (Dan 2:35): predecessor empires' cultural/territorial presence continues even after their political dominion ends.
Daniel 7:23 — Fourth Beast = Fourth Kingdom
Key: מַלְכוּ רְבִיעָאָה תֶּהֱוֵא בְאַרְעָא = fourth kingdom shall be on the earth
תִשְׁנֵא מִן כָּל מַלְכְוָתָא = shall be different from all kingdoms
תֵאכֻל כָּל אַרְעָא = shall devour the whole earth
תְדוּשִׁנַּהּ = shall trample it (peal.Impf.3fs+3fs of דושׁ)
תַדְּקִנַּהּ = shall crush it (haf.Impf.3fs+3fs of דקק) — same d'qaq root
Daniel 7:24 — Ten Horns = Ten Kings
Key: קַרְנַיָּא עֲשַׂר = ten horns
מַלְכוּתָה = from it (the kingdom)
עַשְׂרָה מַלְכִין יְקֻמוּן = ten kings shall arise
אָחֳרָן יְקוּם אַחֲרֵיהֹון = another shall arise AFTER them
יִשְׁנֵא מִן קַדְמָיֵא = shall be different from the first
תְלָתָה מַלְכִין יְהַשְׁפִּל = three kings he shall bring low
NOTE: This is where the TEN kings identification explicitly occurs — Dan 7:24, NOT Dan 2. The toes of Dan 2 are NEVER explicitly numbered or identified as ten kings in Daniel 2 itself. The ten-toes = ten-kings connection requires cross-referencing from Dan 7:24.
